The only walkable food store near my house hasn't restocked cold food in at least three months and I think also to perishables but like [nervous precure gal emote] what the fuck
Like... There's no signs saying they're gonna stop offering, they've just. Been getting rid of food as it ages out and not restocking and I'm like HELLO??? PEOPLE RELY ON THIS STORE???
their fridges are almost empty and i'm like. do i call the manager or do i call someone higher up bc i know they also have staff issues and it isn't really the staff's fault
I know they had a problem with the freezers back in the summer... But it was only two of them, they still have all the other freezers online Filled solelt with mashed potatoes that no one is buying
And having worked as a stocker I can tell when things straight up haven't been moved from the shelves/compulsively check the dates on shelved items bc my coworkers were bad at pulling expired stock, like, I can guarantee they have not been stocking-- and yes they have
So like it is a Real Problem and has been since at least Halloween but either they aren't telling the cashiers why or are instructing the cashiers not to reveal why
because i overhear stuff from vendors sometimes when i have to go to the back dock for things, and there's definitely been issues wrt drivers getting screwed over by new contracts with certain grocery chains and such that wouldn't be apparent unless you talked to people
and i also work at a grocery store in the the poorer part of town, and it's the only one in this zip code, which is why i think they haven't closed it down yet, even though it seems to lose corporate a lot of money
corporations are evil to begin with, and i've heard about similar stories of locking up any and all camping equipment with anti-theft devices in certain areas that had a large homeless population because they use those items extensively
