That's very fair. I probably wouldn't mind as much if I didn't know the vanilla ending first. (Also the kids could totally have worked on that without Joker ending up in jail, for a balance between the two.)
(That does help me put Yusuke's altered reality into some perspective, since Madarame's the parent figure he actively remembers, but I still feel like 'I wish he was a nice guy after all' isn't quite right.)
