in-universe it probably took a while for tai to do her whole Emotional Journey with fray but i find it very funny that gameside she vanished for, like, a few hours during the tour, then came back with a new job crystal and a bunch of rumors like "sup"
yeah tai held kind of a grudge for a little while because of how uncooperative he was during the original coerthas stay and how much he drank guillaime's koolaid but she definitely trusts him now
tbh she probably would've killed that dude if a. she hadn't been terrified of going off the edge again after fray, sorry my guy but you had the OPPOSITE effect of what you wanted, and b. the sheer practical reason of that she doesn't want to sweat in the middle of a murder investigation while she's in ishgard
like. it's definitely the case that there's a ton of tension between ishgard's various institutions so it doesn't at all surprise me that drillemont was like "fuck those church guys"
"Ah, yes. What did Count Edmont say? 'Slayer of some half-dozen primals and Gaius von Baelsar besides?' Behold, her most ferocious foe yet: some icicle sprites." "would it kill you to shut up"
i imagine during the whole trial by combat discussion tai had to just. meekly raise her hand and ask, "hey is my new soul crystal gonna cause problems"
WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU ARE SOMEHOW QUALIFIED TO TALK DOWN A GODLIKE DRAGON WHO HAS BEEN WAGING WAR FOR A THOUSAND FUCKING YEARS FROM ATTACKING THE CITY
i love the dark knight quests too because like... you're a newcomer in this suspicious place full of hostile governing structures, you've been framed by one of the countries you saved and you're advised to keep your head down
"bro i have been the one on monster duty for days no, you go kill the fucking yaks while i go make sure alphinaud doesn't freeze to death gathering the wood, got it"
she sometimes feels bad about being so forceful but it's that or keep on bottling up all her annoyance and eventually explode AGAIN which would be unpleasant
idk if oblivion falls into this, but a looot of japanese popular music, which includes a lot of video game scores as well as anime, and commerical pop and rock and stuff have very particular chord progressions?
so like something in english in the style of this kind of pop-punk is still gonna sound pretty distinctive from western music of the same genre for that reason
"would it kill you to shut up"
get excited it don't stop
