I think you’d make an amazing Gale from Baldur’s Gate: he’s a clever wizard who— after falling in love with a literal goddess— tried to mend her and accidentally curses himself in the process, and now has to consume magical artifacts to keep that curse from detonating and killing entire country-sized swaths in the process
