Furnace fall service happened this morning. Everything is in good order. The only bad part was having an unfamiliar person in the house.

we briefly had an unfamiliar telecom engineer lady in the house to install the new phone line, but she seemed safe and friendly, thankfully. The plumber is a sweetie and the builders we know well.

Good to have it done and that he wore a mask.

Annie : Yes. He was a very nice young man. I asked if he was going to be Santa for anyone special, so got to hear about his two-year old son (and how much he loves the little guy).

Joan_W : It really is. Even though I'm vaxxed and boosted.

I didn’t really like having the people who delivered the dishwasher in the house, or the man who came to read the gas meter. Even having my friend here feels a bit strange.

Indikon : We've learned to be cautious. The stakes are pretty high. I hope you can relax a bit now, with those visits over...

mimi : My friend and her daughter are here till Sunday. We’re trying to at least keep decent ventilation, and we have an air filter in the room where we spend most time together.

Indikon : Ah, a few more days then. Good idea about the air filter and ventilation. I cracked open a few windows this morning, with the same intent.

mimi : They only arrived today. (The daughter’s at university here, but is staying with us for the weekend before going home for Christmas.)
