if the Met is not institutionally misogynistic, homophobic and racist, then is it confessing instead to being institutionally incompetent, classist or criminal (ie working only for rich top-level criminals who can bribe/threaten it)?

there's lots of evidence of officers lying about investigations as well as refusing to investigate (plus of course raping or otherwise abusing victims themselves). Similarly the selective enforcement over drug use by the upper classes vs the lower classes at parties etc.
sef_lopod
there's so much more and for so much longer than the current selectivity over investigations and prosecutions of lockdown infringements (parties and protests).

if 🏳️‍🌈Teeg 🏳️‍⚧️ had not previously heard of the bad reputation of the Metropolitan Police - since this is not actually anything new either. They only periodically claim to have reformed. NB other UK police forces are also institutionally incompetent or corrupt, just like the US ones.

the location of London is what makes the Met especially prone to corruption. Criminal gangs in other areas are slightly more dispersed - especially the upper class ones involved in government. Individual lords or lairds tend to be isolated untouchable criminals in more rural areas unlike the concentration of politicians.

had not heard before.

it's possibly because the USA gets very little news from abroad - and certainly not the stuff where its own uber-rich and right-wingers are a big part of the problem. Eg the real reasons the US keeps making war on other countries and secretly funding and arming rebellions to overthrow emerging democracies and steal local resources.

the general rule is always to follow the money/power trail - "qui bono". It's why they are all attacking wiki-leaks - because it was a modern media outlet for whistleblowers which wasn't controlled by any of the traditional criminals.
sef_lopod
note how the main focus of official investigations in government, business, hospitals etc is always about trying to shoot the messenger rather than deal with the problem being exposed. The narcissists in charge do know they are incompetent & corrupt. It's all about preserving their fake good reputation instead of genuinely deserving it through merit.

a PartyGate reminder that the Met refuses to investigate because they were actually there themselves (outside if not inside too!). It's nothing to do with finding out about it "after the event" and everything to do with the inbuilt corruption over who was involved and their many connections (bribes & threats):

the Met has had a bad reputation for as long as I can remember.

more evidence that the Metropolitan police were directly on the scene and hence complicit in covering up the No.10 Downing Street xmas party instead of upholding the law:

normally the police love the way stupid criminals confess to crimes and provide their own convicting evidence.

no reasonable person could ever expect fair treatment or justice from such a corrupt police force. They are clearly wholly owned by the criminals at the top of society and have no intention of working on behalf of normal people.
