I don't think the idea of full on comic Doom would have gone over in live action before at least phase 2 or 3 MCU level development of a comic movie franchise

I feel like the latest reboot would have tried it eventually

Doom is one of those characters who really can't be used as a first villain.

He's way too complex and has too much setup behind him to put in the same movie that you're introducing the Four in.

didn't the very first movie have him as a villain? like, the 05 one with Chris Evans.

(I am not saying it was a good portrayal I just remember it because it was Julian McMahon and I had a weird crush when I was a teenager)

Famine : I though he was too, because I have vague memory of metal mask doom live action

every movie has used the character, but none have portrayed him in the way comic fans would expect or want

(I say, not really being a comic fan myself. but I know enough of them that I'm confident I have this right.)

Yeah, Victor Von Doom has been a villain, but not the actual DOCTOR Doom, ruler of Latveria, super-scheming mastermind, and all around top tier villain.

The Coreman one that was made in 3 days used Dr. Doom
