but tldr - an author writes a scifi story about gender by twisting the ol' bullshit "identify as a helicopter" meme on its head, but as the story gets to be more known, more people start handwringing on
this is especially true of people who do not even read the story to see the careful care and thought that went into it. but the thing is that the author has little to no info about herself, and so people can't tell if she's trans or not, and clearly that is The Most Important Info to have
.............so quite a few people decide to start a harassment campaign so intense that it makes the author suicidal, and not go any further as "Isbael Fall"
There were a couple of names who also went heavy into the harassment. Notably, only one of these people even tried to give even a piss poor apology for what they did to a trans woman. Neon Yang wasn't that person.
So there's a group called Neon Hemlock Press that's going to do a queer anthology series involving scifi, and robots. Sounds cool and interesting! Everyone wants more cool queer shit to do with robots.
But Neon Yang once wrote a thread on bullshit fauxpologies, right? That kind of "but both sides" nonsense.
Guess who tried to give a shitty fauxpology that hit every single one of the notes they'd mocked, and threw a fit when people pointed this out?
