Firion = spears + white magic
Maria = swords + black magic
Guy = axes + beef

Any time I played it on the GBA, I'd always give her an axe and put all my white magic on Guy.

Fuck your expectations, game, you have given me the tools to do whatever I want with these characters and I will make use of them.

FF2 is so much darker than FF1

FF1 is just, here's your orbs, save the world on a big dungeon crawly adventure

FF2 STARTS with the Empire having conquered half the world, including your home and 90% of the rebel army being dead

you start in an imperial-occupied hellscape

Is FF2 the one where your whole party is killed by the evil empire in the first fight or am I thinking of a different FF?
