This may seems like old news, but SM opened a new mall on where the Ever Gotesco Grand Central used to stand on yesterday.

Nice that they keep the Grand Central name in honor of the old mall before it. Now we got two SM malls in my city, the first being where I got my Pfizer vaccines.

The EG Grand Central caught fire in 2012, had to be demolished, and was at one point an artificial lake before SM Prime came in to buy the land and turned into SM Grand Central.

Although some of the members of the Go family (who owned Ever Gotesco) tried to stop the sale and got the CA to have a trial for intra-company conspiracy, that never went anywhere: https://news.abs-cbn.com/...

Heck, even my city tried to evict the Gos long before the fire and the SM purchase and that was a messy subject on its own:

So much drama for the Go family since their fortunes went down the drain by the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. They had to let go of the Caloocan property to survive, they can keep their supermarket chain and they should still be fine.
