[rp] opera has a cool new feature where if I hover over a tab and I have more tabs that are from the same base website then it gives me this little dropdown of all the tabs I have open on that website

so this is how I'm tracking all my threads. I only have one tab open per post. if I have multiple threads in one post like the intro post I will just scroll through the entire post to each thread

this is why enormous mingle posts or mingle games are increasingly difficult for me just bc navigating big posts is hard

I use gmail notifs to keep track of when I get replies and then refresh the relevant tab, OR I also tag on mobile a lot in which case I usually hit thread from start

unless it is a very very long thread or the toplevel is a header comment of some kind that like a million people have replied to, in which case I'll click on read thread starting from this comment and then parent up a bunch

I could not use this method as my sole organizational method exactly for that reason because otherwise I would never tag out I would have to make everyone come to me for the sake of not dying. But it is cool to see the different ways in which browsers make life easier for people

the fact that I backread at least part of every thread when replying to them is because I do have a very old twitch over ppl commenting (without knowing it was me) that a new character in the rp kept overusing the same icon/vocal tic in a thread and I was like oh shit that's because I play from the dw inbox and

kept trying to mix up how much I used the vocal tic......... but in other threads

so then they all coincidentally piled up on the same thread while I was trying to avoid it elsewhere,

I use my other tabs as markers. pocky is the solo post sandwiched between two gsheet tabs. the big ph cast intro post is the one two tabs to the right of it

anyway since I prefer to keep my number of tabs down I do like to have more threads stacked in a single post. but at the same time I don't want them scattered across a billion toplevels. so I like to make posts or keep to my own toplevels...

for complicated reasons (Rikki) (the reasons are Rikki) it is not actually inherently reassuring to me to be told that someone wants to play with me (tho neither do I inherently DISLIKE it) but I balance it out these days by just assuming everyone wants to play with me anyway because I rock

but regardless of like tagging speed or anything else if someone talks to me on plurk or discord or engages with me shitting out of my mouth then I am soothed. it doesn't even have to be about our cr or even rp it could be about absolutely nothing. you can tag me back in a month if you want take ur time friend

I am VERY BAD at asking people to pick up threads though which is a problem in this, the era of absolutely fucked notifs

not even cuz I assume people didn't want to keep the thread going I just am like I will die if I make them feel pressured/like they're too slow

for the above reason I also am not going to do the 'tell me if you're up for cr with me' meme because then I will just feel obligated to tag everyone who comments and then I will feel anxious about it whereas if I do not do it I will just end up threading with everyone who would have commented anyway, but without the anxiety
