because on the one hand, this feels like the right way to do this, as close to the original Ed as possible character-wise, down to the outfit . I like that much.
i imagine they figured it was literally impossible to please everybody so they might ass well just try and be as 1 to 1 accurate as possible and then at least nobody could say they didn't make an effort
I read the initial concept and provided my opinions, but I'm not sure if they will be reflected in the final product. I have no choice but to pray and hope that it will turn out good. Also, for Cowboy Bebop, I don't have any right to stop it. Those rights are in the hands of Sunrise, so if you have a complaint, please send it to them.
Like what keeps getting me is like. They managed to make the main three look pretty good while maintaining a lot of the original look (save Faye who got an update bc Faye’s original outfit isn’t really practical and kind of silly). There was effort put in there and for all the faults of this whole thing I felt at least they nailed that
I’m just. I’m so tired. Bc I’m honestly not one of those people who thinks live action adaptations can never work and I don’t want to always be endlessly negative about them... but god they just keep making it harder to ever be optimistic about them
This one showed some promise but then I guess turned out to shit the bed anyway and I’m just sitting here with my head in my hands like “well at least there’s still pgsm I guess”
I haven't watched the show so I can't speak for the rest of it but as far as Ed goes I mean yeah that's pretty much how I drew it up in my mind. What did people expect a live action Ed to be like?
I actually think it’s a bit worse in a vacuum, having watched a bit of it, there’s a very. Surrealist vibe to the entire show that does feel intentional? But could easily put off some folks. But it’s enough that I then look at Ed and go, “oh I. Guess that works.”
YMMV of course on being thematically consistent is a good or bad thing.
I honestly hate how the show handles Vicious and Julia a LOT more, but I don’t think the entire show’s worthless. Just odd in places, and sometimes that feels more consistent within the show’s actual context. If that makes sense?
I'm almost in tears by sheer what the fuckery Eds actress is trying to attempt.
