Hello Executors and those considering the game! I have some announcements re: endgame, apps and new characters in this plurk. If you've been considering Can Cry, give this a read!

Those of you in the game will know I recently announced that we were getting close to the back half of the game. Including the current layer, we only have two Layers to go until we begin leading into what I consider to be our endgame.

This is super exciting! After working on Can Cry for the past year and some change (nearly two whole years!) it feels surreal to talk about endgame in semi-concrete terms. However, being so close to endgame means new arrivals will have a lot less time to get settled in before we close up shop.

Because of this, we have some changes to apps and regains for new characters to announce!

As of this post, new characters apping to Can Cry will have two of their fourteen Memoria regained at base and will come into the game with two starter powers as opposed to just one. This is to hopefully give new characters a leg up in catching up with our long term Executors.

Going into endgame, though, will make it very hard for new characters to get a good experience in the game. As such, we are making the decision to close applications to new characters at the end of the next Layer (Luxuria).

Apps will remain open for returning characters for one more Layer, at which point apps will close for returning characters at the end of the second to last Layer.

At that point, apps will permanently close and we will proceed into endgame with the cast as it stands.

We recognise this potentially puts me players on a bit of a time crunch for introing new characters, but we think this is the best and most fair way to ensure every player gets the best possible experience out of Can Cry.

This is all a very long winded way of saying: if you're interested in bringing a new character to Can Cry, now is the best time to do it!
