[work] first day back yesterday and let me tell you, there is no frustration like finding out that only one of the seventeen projects you're working on has had any movement in the last 4 days because you weren't there to spearhead them

please bear in mind that most of the deadlines for their next steps were either a) end of last week, early this week, or c) end of this week

my director thanked me for jumping back into things so quickly and wrangling everything back into shape so at least they noticed they fucked up and noticed that I'm like, the sole lynch pin to keep things moving

(to be fair it's tactical week this week and next so it's like. dozens of 2-3 hour calls to prep decks for and present so they have a reason to be busy but I can still be grumpy about it)

my specialist is doing her best but she's not the quickest to grasp things sometimes and isn't one to really take the reigns ever, which is fine until it isn't. shes covered a couple of client calls while I was out and her recaps kind of made it clear that she didnt really understand what's going on and that she cant really follow higher-level conversations

She's only been here for about 8 months now, so shes still newish but I would have liked to have seen a bit more growth by now. Usually the 6 month mark is when we expect people to be fairly self-sufficient and I dont think shes at that point yet
