another day awoken from a horrific anxiety nightmare at 6am for no reason

it's so weird it's like absolute paralyzing terror but for no reason?? like the dream i was having wasn't scary, it was about walking around the neighborhood near my old high school in the rain

I had parked my car a few blocks away and realized it was raining hard enough to need an umbrella and was going back for it

I was wearing a big comfy denim jacket, because my animal crossing character is wearing one right now and it made me want one real bad irl

like a heavily lined warm comfy early 90s one, my dad had one like that

roomy pockets. I remember in the dream jiggling my keys around inside it

anyway I woke up and promptly began freaking out about every tiny sound from outside, mostly anxiety about my car being stolen, of all things, because it's 6am and my neighbors are starting to leave for work

so I can hear car doors closing and starting up in driveways and etc and I'm like, massively paranoid someone is breaking into our garage for some reason

it doesn't go away in the dark so I have to open my phone to look at something else to distract myself until the thoughts stop and by then of course I'm WIDE awake

anyway it's 8am now and light outside and I'd like to go back to sleep but like. why. also I'm wide awake.
