WhatIHaveBeenWatching As you became old enough, you started to realized thing like movies and series tend to have the same vibe. For me this week watching sessions feel like déjà vu. When watching Dune, I realized it have similarities with Foundation, when The Morning Show I felt the similarities with Succession
Let me explain the similarities between Dune | Foundation. There is 3 generation | clones of rules, the 2 new gens "guided" by a wise mother | female cyborg. They all goes to desert. Main characters have future prophecy, and realizing their ability later on.
The fact the movies revolved around intergalactic empire. And the fact both have some sort of sand | underground monster . With all that, Dune was only half of the full original movie, and Foundation was just at the beginning of the series. Maybe the similarities ends there.
TMS | Succession similarities suddenly show up in my mind last night, the whole series revolve around huge media corp scandal, both have me too moment, both trying to tell about power grabbing moment, and both are in New York
Yes. The Fundation is a tv series, while the Dune (2021) will probably became a movie trilogy. Both Fundation and Dune are based on books that predated Star Wars. All of them have similar look and feel at some point, IMHO.
But I guess since Star Wars movie appeared first then original Dune movie, some people compare it to Star Wars, visually.
