https://images.plurk.com/56K6YmxfKrfc04SG4bWbMt.jpg I am pleased to report the S lives
Dr. Yubsie
SEVERAL of the kids were drawing it at the Halloween party today
Sharkleberry
Good.
Sharkleberry
May it never die.
Tea
I really want future archaeologists to try puzzling that one out
Tea
Yeah, we don't know what it means either
Sharkleberry
We don't know when it started either
ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
apparently it originated in 1890
Tea
holy crap
𝖗𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝖕𝖗𝖔𝖕𝖊𝖗!
this used to mess me up because I grew up in a really surfer/skater town and there was some brand in the 90s that actually used the S as part of its logo, or at least had a line where the S was used in its logo
𝖗𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝖕𝖗𝖔𝖕𝖊𝖗!
I thought it was Stüssy but I think I’m remembering that wrong -- they have a distinctive graffiti logo
𝖗𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝖕𝖗𝖔𝖕𝖊𝖗!
So I assumed at the time that the drawing came from the logo, because both were part of my daily environment.
𝖗𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝖕𝖗𝖔𝖕𝖊𝖗!
Ok apparently other people call it “the Stussy S” sometimes, so I’m not remembering wrong!
Sharkleberry
Super S
Sharkleberry
I don't know who these Cool S people are but they're wrong.
Tea
we always just called it "the weird S"
Awe
I actually forgot what we called it in high school and middle school where I grew up
thaneon
The S will never die. It's name may be lost, but it will never die
go тo вread
I still can't draw it
Yon Fellow
Three straight lines on top, three straight lines on the bottom. Connect with diagonals, pointy top, pointy bottom, and then finish off the ends. Bam.

The S is a great example of meme theory in practice
WingsOfCover

WingsOfCover
