I’ve been trying to recreate the Mid-Autumn Festival rabbit lantern in my childhood memory to which my mum donated to charity.
After finishing this sitting one (it’s not finished yet, still have the other side of the face to go), I think I’ll try to make a standing one with glued on fabric
instead of hand rolled hemmed sewed on organza fabric, and with googly eyes instead of hand embroidered eyes, which should be less time consuming to make.
I used the most traditional colouration in pastel form on this sitting rabbit lantern. The next standing rabbit lantern in planning to make I’ll be using 花見団子 (Hanami dango) colouration.
