amazon has said that they're going to ban anyone who uses the glitch

but the thing is

as long as you're logged in

someone can send you gold and you don't have an option to decline

so someone can just give you 500,000 illegal gold

and now you're complicit

so the only way to be safe is to just not log in until the bug is resolved

become ungovernable

So what you're saying is someone can basically ban literally everyone and turn it into a ghost server

this is a survival resource economy type game too

so entire servers are just completely ruined

Reminds me of ages ago where D&D online had a dupe glitch where if you traded something to someone and immediately cut your Internet you’d still have the item you also gave to someone else. So the admins started banning people with duped items, but then a lot of people got banned just for buying a dupe off the auction house, having no way of having known

Ruined is almost an understatement given that, prior to this, gold had gone deflationary to the point most people had to rely on bartering instead.

wait last i heard they were on the barter economy because money was too hard to obtain

and now they're on barter again because it's too easy to get money

this is just..... amazing

god, every time i hear about this game i just get more and more amused

given this game also had people using reporting people as a PVP tactic because all the reports are handled by an automated service that just hits you if you get enough reports, people would absolutely hand you fake gold to get you banned as a tactic

this game is an absolute fucking tire fire

This is really an impressive amount of failure.

it's a very pvp-driven game, more in the vein of EVE, as I understand it
