it's only a few days ago i learned about the history about this type of crochet

AND to make it better, it was first introduced in county cork, ireland

crochet has been a huge, huge thing in my family, especially my mother's side. which, gosh

they came over during the famine from county cork

so it is so very likely that the irish women in my family brought this over, too, and that's fucking awesome

absolutely wild. my mother learned crochet from her mother, and so on

i'm a nerd with fiber arts, don't mind me

It's fun stuff! If you can do regular thread crochet, it's really not that different at all.

there are some good YouTube videos for it, but basically, it's doing a string of chain stitches and then tight dcs and trebles so that the chain curves to look like a petal
