[tech] I’m researching charging stations and usb hubs because my hub is dying. But it’s frightening and interesting to see how often these things catch fire??

I don’t have the money right now, but I def need to get a charging station and a hub soon-ish

But the fire thing, beyond being concerning, is hilarious

My first computer was an apple g4 cube my dad got me in my senior year. A few years later I was using the mouse and suddenly it caught on fire

I had the quick reflexes of ripping it out of the port and tossing it before anything serious happened

But after that I had to have long conversations with apple and circuit city about how the mouse caught on fire because they literally couldn’t believe it

I have never heard of a mouse catching fire. that's wild

𝐺𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖 it really was! It was like right at the base where the cord comes out of the mouse, I had to actually show it to the employees at circuit city because my dad still had insurance on my system lmao

To think, after all these years we still can’t make computer accessories that don’t catch fire lmao
