Jungle Cruise was delightful, actually [no spoiler review]

disney has finally found the winning formula to adapt theme park rides into movies:

honestly if you like the 90s mummy movie, Jungle Cruise is just bursting with Mummy dna, with a bit of Indiana Jones and some PotC thrown in for flavor

overall really it's super good it's a really fun ride, thrilling and heartwarming and funny with some unexpected twists

also I am tickled pink by the Rock's filmography tbh and this is a worthy addition

because a guy who broke into acting via wresting you'd think would get typecast as action meathead like many others who look like him and have similar background are content to do

and he def takes some action meathead rolls but he also takes ones like Maui and the tooth fairy and so on and this was another fun one

anyway point is you should see it if/when you can esp if you are a fan of supernatural themed adventure movies

with a strong female lead who never falls into the trap of having no personality beyond being a strong female lead

also and most importantly

it genuinely - somehow??? - kept in mind what it was despite all this

like it feels like the jungle cruise

I actually enjoyed it more than the mummy personally but that's mostly I think because I know too much about irl ancient egypt
