[rwby] thinking about rewatching the series

tbh the only thing holding me back from a rewatch for a while was just. the overwhelmingly negative "fandom" surrounding the show

feeling this very loudly

The only thing holding me back from a lot of RWBY stuff is that “fandom” so I feel you. It’s exhausting.

That post has been circulating in my head since i first saw it constantly

Just ignore the fandom and enjoy a show you enjoy.

Just because you watch something doesn't mean you are required to interact with the fandom at large

I want to, it's just draining when I can go to basically any of my fandom spaces and find people hating rwby there

You know I have that ability with most other things. For some reason then even looking slightly at anything related then has this feeling of like

“I can’t even take a nice walk in the park can I”

Everything else I can merrily operate with blinders on, RWBY fandom has the utmost skill at draining the fun out of it at all times

If I see negative things, I liberally apply the mute button. It's kept my Twitter nice and clear of people who try and ruin things for everyone.

I'm right there with ken unfortunately

I swear if there isn't at least one person complaining about rwby on the tbfp subreddit nearly every day

yeah reddit is a harder space to deal with.

I spent a while arguing over RWBY because while it's not the Greatest Show Evar the negativity toward it is way overblown

But there's only so much energy I can put into that

how can people put so much energy into hating it

don't they get tired

It's bizarre how controversial this silly internet cartoon show turned out to be.

it's WILD how this little internet show inspired a massive hatedom that will tear it apart no matter what it does

Hating RWBY has become a subgenre of RWBY

For real. I don't know if they're still out there I remember for awhile there were channels where people had subscribed to FIRST and released weekly videos that were a whole hour long tearing down each fifteen minute episode. Every week.

But yeah man. Just go back and watch it. Hell with it, right? The wannabe professional RWBY haters are the weirdos.

Yeah. Like. You don’t like a thing, you wanna critique it some. Have at it. No problems. I might even agree with you on a lot of stuff.

But when people make it part of their online identity, and many DO, it gets nuts
