The dog broke his dewclaw... again (just the claw part. He didn't break any bones or anything.)

its not serious. Just painful. He's currently hiding in the back bedroom, curled up and shaking. I sat with him a bit and he shoved his face into my leg.

He'll be okay. It just hurts. As long as we keep the wound clean he wont get an infection. However it can get worse.

after a day or two I'll take nail cutters to the broken part. I wont cut it all off. That would hurt him a lot. I'm just going to cut most of the dead nail off so I can wrap the paw in vet wrap while it heals.

so he doesn't bump the nail on anything since... You know... It hurts him

i feel like its my fault. I know i need to keep his nails short to avoid this but I was busy and didn't make time to cut his nails
