It's real Bad and webtoons have liiike, made it worse because now you have to produce a full chapter a week, and you're competing with webtoons that hav.e...a full team/
like no one talks about it but a lot of the sponsored/translated webtoons are from people who have assistants and shit and they're in direct competition to indy artists??
I do not want to turn Kaz's plurk into "Kaji feels sorry about herself and the state of her art" so instead I will saaayyy if you wanna find an artist I think there's probably ways to arrange it? I don't think writing is actually less work since editing and scripting are really hard and you'd have to basically work together on storyboards
cuz like, I also do not need it to turn a profit and am willing to give you a larger share of the cut and think a monthly update schedule sounds way more sane than weekly anyway
and also I have a small but enthusiastic following who would boost the shit out of anything I was working on so we would definitely get at least a LITTLE audience
honestly i kind of miss the olde wild west days of anyone with an idea and the will to draw a few pages a week could get readers for their (two guys gaming/fairy tale pastiche/weird twentysomethings/edgy heavenhell aesthetic/fandom-based) comic
lol
