My newbie game is with five guys. Some of them have less attention span than others.

And we start the session with Shanna getting a vision from her god of the person who hired us, now very ill as the whole Death Curse thing progresses.

Which meant that Shanna had a whole long spiel about needing to go to Omu and not the Heart of Ubtao like we'd been talking about at the end of last session.

Yay! We've found zombies!

And this might be one of those times when running into the middle might be useful.

I'm just sitting here with spiritual guardians up, letting the zombies come to me.

Paladin: <casts Spiritual Weapon> <DOESN'T USE IT>

Wisdom saving throw. Which I have a +7 for.

And, as an elf, I have advantage against charm effects.

I ROLLED A FUCKING ONE BOTH TIMES.

We fought a Yellow Musk Creeper. Which regenerates at the start of its turn if it doesn't take fire, necrotic or radiant damage.

And...that basically means that a Light Domain Cleric is their worst nightmare.

We got a random encounter of goblins on Shanna's watch.

She cast a flaming sphere and got advantage on intimidation. Which worked really well and they ran away.

So that's twice we've intimidated ourselves out of a night attack. And once talking ourself out of a night attack.

We've come across some plant eating dinosaurs. 14 of them, surrounding some young ones.

Druid: I want to get close, see if they're friendly.
Me (IC): Just don't get too close to the young ones.

Me (OOC): Stay away from the younglings, Anakin.
DM (OOC): I haven't seen Star Wars in a while, but I think he failed at that.
Me (OOC): Don't be a dick, Anakin.
Me (OOC): He failed at that one, too.

Gunslinger (OOC): Why is my animal handling so shit? I'm a cowboy! I should be good at this!
Me (OOC): Because your wisdom is shit!
Gunslinger: I know! But I'm supposed to be able to tame horses and shit!
Me and Druid: Dinosaurs aren't horses!
