shobogan
Thanks, everybody.

shobogan
We know the cancer has moved to his liver and that they're going to attempt chemo. I haven't talked to him yet, but from what my aunt said he's stubbornly optimistic, which isn't surprising

shobogan
he's v much GONNA FIGHT THE THING which does not always work out for him but in this case!!

shobogan
and, hell, maybe this will finally push him to stop smoking and drinking , that would help a lot

shobogan
(that's.....also a running issue in dad's side of the family, and once i've lost several relatives to. i never got to know my grandfather, he died in his late thirties.)

StupidSexyV⚠der
yeah that would help a LOT

shobogan
Good news: he has indeed said he is never touching alcohol or cigarettes again

shobogan
Bad news: It's actually stage four.

shobogan
Right now, the prognosis is anywhere from fifteen months to five years. But - well, he'll try for as much as he can get. His youngest daughter is thirteen.

shobogan
And it's not set in stone, so. We can hope.

shobogan
(One of my grandmothers stopped chemo and was given a few months to live, lasted 21 years.)

shobogan
(This was FAR less advanced a case, but he is doing chemo and whatever else he needs to do, so.)

StupidSexyV⚠der
good luck!

shobogan
Thanks. <3

shobogan
He'll be home in a couple days, we're planning to visit

StupidSexyV⚠der
<3 welcome

StupidSexyV⚠der
I'll remember him in my prayers to my healing gods

𖦹 alan
