I’ve been searching for the right words for a few days now. I know you’re a very tight family, but Louis leaving for Uni is actually, in my opinion, a great achievement as parents. You had this tiny baby and sort of sculpted him into an amazing young man. That is your work, yours and Gidge’s. Be more proud, less sad.

Also, I know it’s easy for me to say since mine are still a long way from Uni.

But also, I’m someone’s kid and taking a flight off the family’s nest was a very cool step.

It is sad. I remember the tears I shed. But it is also something to celebrate. Sending your lovely young man off on the next part of his journey. Skype is very useful.

It hurts. So proud of you all as a family, you guys rock!
