MIL had a bit of an anxiety attack after the first part of her chemo the other day so she couldn't complete her first treatment until yesterday, but so far, she's handling it mostly well. I just hope her opting for outpatient care doesn't slow down her recovery, but it seems like it's what she really wants and it's more affordable. It makes me so sad that...

she's super worried about her job stability and money issues during this when she should just be focusing on her health.

I will say though, I hope she's really proud of the two men she raised. Both my husband and BIL are absolutely AMAZING. They've been spending every moment they can with her and taking such good care of her.

stuff like this makes me so angry about our health care system in america. I'm sorry she's having to worry about money/job stuff when she should just be focusing on her own health

yup, but it's not surprising. My grandparents busted their asses and pinched pennies all their lives, moved to Florida to live cheaply when they retired, had a pension, etc, and they STILL had to claim bankruptcy towards the end because of medical bills. I wish she was financially in a situation where she could just retire early, she's 63.
