today when i went to buy shoes, i went into sephora and i didnt realize how overwhelming that store could be lol

when i walked in the girl who greeted me was super cheerful, friendly, energetic. she was kind of dancing around.

haha it can be
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐
but when i walked in, i was greeted and asked if i needed help like 6 more times in the first ten minutes
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐
and there's so many people
juliette lives
they've ramped it up because people aren't going in and buying makeup as much

it used to be great bc they'd ask you once and leave you be!
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐
and like, as a retail worker i do get it!
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐
because corporate wants you to engage with clients but i dont think they realize how pushy it can be to have you ask like 20 times
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐
so i dont blame the people working there but ooph it was overwhelming. i just wanted to buy something so i could claim my free birthday gift

look like you know what you're doing and they'll generally let you be
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐
but i used to have rude experiences when in the store, it seems like customer service is a bit better
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐
but when i went to macys i walked right to the shoes, one dude asked if i needed help i said no and when i found what i was looking for in like 5 minutes, i found a lady to get my size and i was out in less than 15 minutes

I've only ever asked for help in a Sephora like twice and both times it was "what's the most waterproof version of X that you have" for outdoor performances lol

and both times they were people I actually knew who happened to work there

so I was just like hey you know your shit and we do theater together, what do you use
