Jamil's coming from home with his own baggage of which the main one is Kalim (and he has already been accused of them being boyfriends) and a complicated relationship with the faceless MC.
He's a dumb optimist, traits Jamil is (unfortunately) very attracted to from his relationship to Kalim BUT... Ryuu is actually an adult who can take care of himself so that's kind of like the dream for Jamil.
And sometimes she just complete dominates him in being an edgy teen like why did I not tag into the "sorry I only want to get married if you'll die with me" prompt from handfasting like... yikes............. but maybe............?
Anyways while I joke that Jamil's crush on Ryuu makes him want to be a better person (gross) Jamil's crush on Shinsou makes him want to be an actively worse person in order to get his attention.
He may slowly but surely learn he has to be a nicer person to get Shinsou to actually care about him back which... horrifying, terrible, he refuses to apologize for using his hypnotism for personal gain!!!
and wait is Joseph attractive when Joseph is a desperate snakeman or when Jamil is a desperate snakeman or when they're both snesperate (snake desperate)
Ryuu's there as the golden boy option in that, like... it's a mix of fanboy admiration and romantic/physical attraction.
Miu's the other bitch that gets the legitimate just "crush" spot because like... spiteful gorgeous-looking cool girl not like other girls...??

Jamil doesn't like Joseph but at the same time their interactions are so waves hand awkwardly that it feels remiss to not shout out that old man
