a lol at the end of a sentence is kinda like how "k", "kk", and "k." can each have different connotations

Exactly. I tend to be pretty matter-of-fact/can come off as aggressive with just text, if I don't add something. It's just my particular speech pattern. I've tried not using lol with
every sentence
, but man is it hard.
