my dad made it through his triple bypass

his kidneys are not great right now and he's very swollen, so they have him on dialysis to try to get them working again, hopefully

the other day i got a call from my mom saying that he coded three times over the course of the night (i.e., he went into cardiac arrest), and it turned out because the line they put in his leg for dialysis got compromised and kept clotting, contributing to the cardiac arrest

but they were very fast to respond to that, and while he's intubated and sedated again, everything is fixed and better with that
batman
but as you can maybe understand, not exactly the best call to get at like 6 in the morning
batman
so, we booked an overnight flight the same day and now i'm in florida with my mom for maybe a week or more. we'll see

yeah his heart and lungs are doing good, actually

it's just he's very confused and that's mostly because he's been on so much sedation that the drugs have been building up with nowhere to go because he hasn't been able to urinate because of his kidney's atm

so, the dialysis is going to help with that, but by the time he's conscious he's going to be very out of it for a few days

which is.. .not great

he's always very distressed, sometimes he's not sure if the surgery even happened, sometimes he thinks he's dead

i haven't seen it for myself, but it's nice to be here for my mom at least, cause she's just here by herself with the dogs
