[seattle heat wave] we're so boned... our AC keeps blowing fuses when it gets too hot in here

it's going to be something like 102 tomorrow and 108 monday

nothing here is built for this heat

especially the apartments. air does not move. there is no circulation at all. they don't even believe in ceiling fans. it's always hotter in here than outside.

8pm its 97 right now

we waited for it to go down some before walking toki

I feel that. Our old apartment didn't have ceiling fans either, so when I was looking for a place for us to move to, I made sure we had them. It was really hot last summer.

yeah... thought it couldn't get worse than our last apartment but I was very wrong

can't believe setting the AC to 74 is too much to ask

going to go put wet washcloths on my body and lay in front of our only fan x_x

apparently putting your feet in water helps to cool off as well

it's not much better here in Tacoma, which is also home to shittily laid out apartments...

when we get into the 110s here they make us turn our a/c to 78 which might help with the fuse blowing.... i also take cold showers every hour lol

you can also try freezing a washcloth? stay safe ❤️

freezing waterbottles and placing near any plug in fan helps too... we found these cooling cloths and that's my blanket as it's too hot to sleep (Bremerton)

it was hot enough in here that 78 still kept blowing fuses all the way uo until midnight. we had to set an alarm for 4am to wake up and turn it on again

closed off all other rooms (sorrry, bedroom) brought everything we don't want ruined by heat into the living room. trying to put insulation tape around the edges of the ac thing in the window, going to tack up sheets over the window, going to try and get an extension cord to plug the ac unit into a different outlet

got all our frozen bottles and ice packs (mostly for toki who does not do well in the heat)

so glad I did a super thorough brush out of his coat because even though he's a chihuahua mix he has a super dense double coat

basically our whole wall is a window up to the ceiling facing the sun

that sounds miserable
