I don’t have it off, but it’s only because we already have in person Juneteenth programming planned, so we can’t suddenly close the library at the last minute. My boss said if this had happened a month ago, it would have been easier to work around.

It's not surprising that this passed, though. This is a diversion from the voting rights bill. Now they can say see, I'm not racist. While it's nice, I'm a bit cynical about it.

: Oh, I'm not pissed about it. It's a step in the right direction, but a small step considering everything else that needs to be done, and it will be used as an excuse to stop taking any more steps. It's especially infuriating hearing people condemn CRT as "racist" and "divisive" and follow that up with support for this holiday.

Oh yeah, it's understandable to have mixed feelings about it. However, it's another to tell someone not to enjoy it or be happy for that reason.
