BLACKBEARD is a frontline assault mech with the gimmick of having grappling harpoons built in, allowing it to shoot enemies and drag them into melee range
It also can have an NHP on board that is a berserker. If you activate it your mech gets faster and stronger but also you lose the ability to control it's actions. The only thing you can do is turn it off before it starts attacking your friends
DRAKE is a ranged defensive powerhouse, focusing on being a fucking wall that your allies can literally hide behind while laying down suppressive fire with it's giant chaingun
Instead of hosing people down from range with a chaingun it gets right up in people's faces and punishes anyone who moves near it with brutal counterattacks
CALIBAN is a tiny little thing designed for boarding enemy ships in fleet engagements and then killing everyone on board. It isn't NOT inspired by the Doom Guy
Unlike many IPS-N frames, the Caliban has no roots in early attempts at self-defense by freighter crews and asteroid miners. It was not born from ingenuity - there is no legacy of resilience, heroism, or the frontier spirit to paper over the purpose of its birth.
It has no civilian applications in aid, disaster relief, construction, or farming; it does not build, defend, or inspire – it was designed to solve a numbers problem on a ledger. It is a tool designed to kill human beings very, very quickly.
DUSK WING focuses on holographic illusions to confuse and disorient opponents. It was built after studying records from an assault on an unshackled NHP
it uses advanced tactical forecast abilities to predict the future. You can retroactively move your allies out of the way of attacks in response to them being hit
It focuses on fighting larger enemies with ambush tactics. It can hide in plain sight, leave trip lines, has a grappling hook, and does bonus damage to prone enemies
GOBLIN is a tiny little mech that can attach itself to an ally, effectively taking the goblin out of the fight and allowing the pilot to focus entirely on it's specialty: Hacking
GORGON is a defensive mech that uses a memetic weapon so horrifying that merely looking at it can cause headaches, blindness, cranial hemorrhaging, and worse\
HYDRA is a mech that focuses on controlling swarms of drones. The whole mech is, in fact, made of drones that can detach and reassemble themselves as needed
MANTICORE is a highly unstable mech that is constantly on the verge of exploding due to overheat, but also just kind of has an aura of Fuck You full of plasma and electrical discharges
KOBOLD is a tiny little mech that focuses on altering the terrain to your advantage. It was originally designed for mining and construction, and has been weaponized to be as obnoxious as possible
That gun on it's shoulder uses artificial gravity to super accelerate projectiles. It's meant for use on capital ships, but they're putting it here first to test it's effectiveness
On top of being armed with flamethrowers, it has a lot of ways of explosively releasing built up heat, turning the mech into a firey tornado of Fuck Everything
TOKUGAWA is a ridiculous mech that is designed to overclock it's own reactor and bleed the excess heat into its weapons, turning them into superheated energy weapons that can cut through anything
- 3d Printing technology is HIGHLY advanced in Lancer and can print full mechs and all their equipment. Even if your mech is destroyed, as long as you survive and can get to a printer you can just generate a new one on the spot
- The Metalmark, however, has a knife designed by master artisans and is so exclusive that if you lose it they won't let you print a new one until you write a letter to the artisan who designed your PERSONAL knife, apologizing and explaining the circumstances in which you lost the original
- Each Atlas mech remembers the motion data of everyone who has used it before and can supplement your motions with those of a thousand previous master.
- The Caliban has a shotgun that is so heavy duty it comes with a warning to be careful when ejecting the shells around allies because they come out fast enough to decapitate unarmored infantry
- Zheng started out as a Raleigh but one particularly clever pilot did a TON of modifications on it while under attack by pirates. She was able to wipe out an ENTIRE pirate fleet with it before succumbing to injuries, hunger, and radiation poisoning in a 45 day battle of cat and mouse
yeah you can just fire the moljnir properly but it also fires off whenever you reload, which you can do either via stabilize or through the raleighs frame trait of "if you don't attack or force a save this turn you automatically reload all loading weapons"
the Tokugawa has less HP so if the Raleigh can get some good early hits in, that is a key advantage, especially if it activates its Core power and starts loading the Mjolnir cannon
basically the Raleigh needs to wait for a chance to counterattack. If it does and it lands those counterattacks, all of those punishes are going to be MASSIVE
