i'm not 100% convinced that the titan curse returns! that kid might gain the power of titans but it will probably die with them, if they even obtain any power

the curse itself came from ymir carrying out the king's order, which no longer exists

also on a long enough timeline, all our favourite manga endings will probably have a nuclear war of some sort long after the main story has ended. conflict is unfortunately inevitable, i'm guessing the reason paradis was nuked had less to do with rumbling and more about resources and whatnot

Yeah, that's what I assumed what Isayama wanted to show with war happening again. Human conflict won't disappear overnight which is what the original ending was pitching very hard

i think the important thing people forget is that the titan threat is finally gone, and eren’s goal from the beginning was to eliminate them all. the story was never really about ending war and conflict even if it seemed like that in AoT’s endgame

fma had one of the most satisfying endings but it doesn’t mean war and conflict won’t happen again in 500 years just because arakawa didn’t draw an extra five pages haha, but i imagine fandom reacting the same way if she did!

I guess a lot of the confusion comes from the fact that Eren did succeed in getting rid of all titans, but there's still so many unanswered questions and having the Ymir tree still be around opens the gates for a lot of speculation

Which I think is what Isayama was hoping for since his original ending idea for AoT was going to be like the Mist where the viewer goes "Wait what?" I guess he stuck to his guns with that
