There was so much NATURE!!! right under our noses!

there's a large set of stone stairs going up a hill that a lot of people work out at. It's like, pretty solidly in the middle of densely populated city. I went with a friend to go up the steps and check out the view/get a workout, and... we discovered there was a whole ass nature park behind the hill

lived here for over a decade and neither of us had any idea LMAO. it was also super empty I don't think anyone really knows about it?! secret nature

That's really neat. It reminds me of the Japanese garden in Balboa Park.

That reminds me, though -- when I was out around SoCal and walking up and down the hills, I'd sometimes find random secret-ish places. It seems like there are a lot of them around the cities. Last time I was in San Diego and trying to get back to my apartment, I took a hiking trail out back and discovered this whole back path

A few roads have led into open parks that seemed to be empty

yeah I love finding random hidden stuff in cities! and oh man, the Japanese friendship garden in balboa park is so cute. I miss. places!!

I wanna go to the natural history museum soon. I miss the dinosaurs u_u

and the getty... and the zoo....... vibrates

I'd love to visit Balboa Park again... I had to cancel my SD trip last year obviously and it sucks, I was looking forward to it. I Miss Places, too, lol.
