Mum is okay but we sure did spend a large chunk of last night in Emergency with her arm.
Jemisaur
Yesterday, her arm was sore waking up. She kept dozing during the day (a usual sign she's sick) and her arm was aching.
Jemisaur
Then she didn't want to eat dinner. My mother has a health appetite and iron stomach, so that was a pretty scary thing. The only times she's not wanted to eat is when she had shingles and cancer.
Jemisaur
She calls the medical help line, talks to them and they suggest she needs to see a doctor in the next six hours.
Jemisaur
I spend a while trying to arrange out of hours gp care. Everywhere is full up.
Jemisaur
So I take her down to the nearest hospital with an emergency/after hours care (yay, half hour drive with no lighting for a large part of it) and we get her checked in.
Jemisaur
Eventually, we find out she probably has cellulitis. I only find this out after being left in the waiting room for an hour by myself while they get around to seeing her, which was somewhat stressful.
Jemisaur
Anyway, they gave her iv antibiotics and sent her home, so we got back around midnight (I did get cheap petrol, so yay) and she has to go back tonight for her second dose
hobblepot
oh man. wishing you both well, hoping it'll go ok
Jemisaur
She's much better today. Her arm is still tender, red and swollen but much less so than it was
Jemisaur
And she's eating again
hobblepot
I'm glad!

I'm glad your mom is (going to be) ok

Jemisaur
She wants to drive herself tonight.
Jemisaur
She can. Technically. There's no reason she can't
Meridian
that does not surprise me.
Jemisaur
And I'll just be a pest at the hospital, and they ask that people not come unless they need to.
Jemisaur
I did offer to shop tomorrow. I have a letter to send overseas anyway
