what do you think healing magic feels like

Quinneapolis
does it feel good and refreshing

Quinneapolis
does it hurt as your bones are shoved back into position

Quinneapolis
or is it just numbing

Master Chieve
all are valid

mask of pride 🌸
personally the first interpretation, but all of the others have merit

ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
when i was a stupid edgy teen i had an oc who had healing magic, with the caveat that she did not have numbing magic.

Quinneapolis
chip's suggestion in the FF7R LP is

Master Chieve
It depends on what kind of vibe you want your canon to have

Quinneapolis
"Cure feels like someone drinking a coke in a coke commercial looks"

Master Chieve
ahaha

Master Chieve
just an almost orgasmic level of refreshing

Quinneapolis
like a woman eating a salad in a commercial

I read a story where the main character said that healing magic feels like a sunburn

kamikasei
I think there's at least one official D&D source that suggests healing potions taste like honey

kamikasei
I'd probably describe the sensation as the kind of uncomfortable where it doesn't entirely feel bad, and you can tell it's doing you good. Like the pins and needles of sensation returning to a limb that's fallen asleep, or the sting of disinfectant on a wound, or the soothing of balm on sunburn or ice on a bruise.

I didn't know horses had their own cocaine

mint

penis bacon
yeah I think it depends on what the healing magic is healing

penis bacon
Like, a lot of healing spells don't "heal" so much as "reinvigorate"

penis bacon
but if it's having to reknit bone, repair tissue, undo actual physical harm, that's gonna sting like a motherfucker if you've got nerves suddenly rebooting

MundersOWundus
It stings in I/O for the reasons Sord brought up

penis bacon
but like, since jrpg characters are made of animentium and thus do not suffer any physical damage unless it's complete system shutdown

penis bacon
yeah cure in an FF game is absolutely just crackin' back a Cold One

A Grinning DM
I’ve always flavored it as depending on the source of the magic and how it works

A Grinning DM
Healing spell from cleric of the sun god: warm and soothing

A Grinning DM
Lay on hands from a priest of the pleasure god: feels a little TOO good

Psionic flesh mending? Hurts like hell
