does it hurt as your bones are shoved back into position

or is it just numbing

personally the first interpretation, but all of the others have merit

when i was a stupid edgy teen i had an oc who had healing magic, with the caveat that she did not have numbing magic.

I think there's at least one official D&D source that suggests healing potions taste like honey

I'd probably describe the sensation as the kind of uncomfortable where it doesn't entirely feel bad, and you can tell it's doing you good. Like the pins and needles of sensation returning to a limb that's fallen asleep, or the sting of disinfectant on a wound, or the soothing of balm on sunburn or ice on a bruise.

yeah I think it depends on what the healing magic is healing

Like, a lot of healing spells don't "heal" so much as "reinvigorate"

but if it's having to reknit bone, repair tissue, undo actual physical harm, that's gonna sting like a motherfucker if you've got nerves suddenly rebooting

but like, since jrpg characters are made of animentium and thus do not suffer any physical damage unless it's complete system shutdown
