and not just the ears, Viera and especially Hrothgar have extremely limited customization options too, they have the least available hairstyles available to them, most hats do not work on their models, Hrothgar even have their hair choices limited to which face you choose it's so sad

when I made my alt on a boosted server, he was getting literally 500% bonus exp once I loaded him up with every available way to boost EXP

you can take advantage of the boost by swapping jobs around, the boost would go away on a level 70 job, but if you swap to a lower level job it comes back

it will go away on its own eventually (it's like several months long) but until then milk it

how does getting new jobs work btw? I thiiiink I read something about doing quests?

At level uhhh 10, your job guildmaster will give you "permission" to start exploring new jobs then the other guilds will open up to you

then you just visit those guilds and say "yes I would like to join your guild" and now you have access to that job

expac jobs eventually drop the guild idea, but it works in a similar manner, you find the npc that represents that job and accept their quest to unlock the job

I will say with minimal spoilers that Archer is an excellent starting job for mooncats, lorewise, as the Archer storyline is one of the (very few) places where Keepers of the Moon are a prominent part of the story

each job has its own questline attached to it, with different steps opening at certain level thresholds, make sure to do your job quests as soon as they become available because they're how you get all your job skills and your upgraded job at level 30

jobs are also restricted by what locations you can visit, so as an Archer, you have basically immediate access to Lancer, Conjurer, Botanist, Carpenter, and Leatherworker, and when you hit...15? you will be able to access the base game jobs located in the other major cities too

(lancer and conjurer become Dragoon and White Mage)

they're also expac limited so even if you theoretically go up to 60 and the unlock for Gunbreaker is Gridania, you won't be able to access it until you get yourself Shadowbringers

it's definitely worth exploring every job you have available to you and there's no obligation to stick to any one job so if you unlock another job you find you like better, then just use that job as your new main job
