Good morning! There! I just got out of a meeting where I was told a lot of my projects that kept getting pushed off the priority list got bumped to Q3. So I told them I won't be here to see them through and announced my retirement to the group I work the most closely with.

I am surprised that most of them were surprised.

I still have to send in the paperwork and use up my vacation.

Some of those project proposals were over a year old and they were asking if they still needed to be done. I told them half the issue with not having enough tech support people is because the applications for the users to do their jobs are always given low priority.

So minor customer support issues are done by high priced tech application support people and analysts. A simple thing like a customer email address change, in some systems, require project level scrutiny to get done. My projects were to put that stuff back into the hands of the customer or customer support people.
