The re-appearance of Hiroshi Nagano (actor of Ultraman Tiga's Daigo) in the public might have pushed them in promoting Tiga again.

they need to have some items the kids can collect IMHO. if they only released one stick, it wouldn't sell much i guess.

The issue is the form names but I guess since Trigger is a successor of Tiga he would have the same forms.
