I tell myself I can only make prototypes for new designs when I've completed a certain goal for the day and more often than not that doesn't happen, or I wait til weekends to do them, and I won't really have much weekend this time.

I will say that upcoming on my Custom orders are Cal Kestis, Nightsister Merrin, House Targaryen, and House Martell. I haven't played Fallen Order and I don't watch Game of Thrones, so I never would have thought to do these - but the designs will be done so I can do them again.

but also found a very cool like... moire/static sort of print IN RED, like, this looks like The Hex, and the Wanda masks keep selling super well and I am slowly but surely running out of the swirly print I use on the right side

: I do, I actually just got one that would probably work very well - pictured on the top one here. I have access to a cricut now, too, so it isn't limited to what I can paint, either, and you should get a much cleaner silhouette.

I like that first teal you showed me, possibly paired with one or two other fabrics either in the same color family or burgundy (the whole book is illustrated in teals and burgundies). The shiny scales are cool but not quite what I'm looking for. What level of custom mask should I order?

Silver will be one fabric on each side with the vinyl cutout on one, so this is probably at least Gold. If you want to look through the shop and compare price points and complexity that's probably the easiest way to choose a level. That also helps me know sort of what you're going for, if you can reference the general design of one I already have.

Ulla's story is actually an origin story for the sea witch from The Little Mermaid! Not the Disney version of Ursula, but another version of her. (She ends up with an eel tail rather than a fish tail later in the story, but starts out as a normal mermaid.)

It's from a story collection by Leigh Bardugo, The Language of Thorns. It is available as an audiobook! It's beautifully illustrated, though, so you do lose out on a little of the wow factor in audio form. (the hard copy has border illustrations that change slightly every time you turn the page, plus a full page illustration at the end of each story.)

Oh, that sounds like something that's meant to be actually read as a tangible copy! I know with a lot of stories it doesn't matter as much (hence most of my literary consumption being audiobooks while working), but, hm. Might put that on the library list.

oh, that's gorgeous! I really do love when a piece of art fits its form, or when form becomes part of the art itself - it's such an interesting concept in these days when media is so varied and books can be anything and the lines between TV and movies are blurred and and and.
