Warning: images of human remains. Today is the 7th day after grandma passed. We went to the crematorium to pick her bones. Each family member picked a a bone shard and dropped it in the urn along with some perfumed water. The remaining bones were pounded into tiny pieces and placed in the urn. I always imagined it to be grounded into ashes but it's not.
it's blur I know, my hands were shaking. We offered more prayers and food after. I guess they only grind bones to ashes when it's meant to be scattered.
the green bottle next to the urn is perfumed water. So right now her urn is placed at the urn lot next to grandpa but it'll only be sealed and placed with the plaque after to the 49th day prayers.
oh, i also thought it would be fine ash afterwards my mum told me that after my gramma was cremated, they (she and siblings) were called in to pick up any green bones, apparently a sign of how kind the person is. not sure how it turns green though, scientifically speaking. hope you're doing ok...
i only attended a cremation once (my college friend's wake) hours after the cremation, her ashes were put in the plastic, then it was shut inside the urn.
