Did I like everything about it? No. But I knew that would happen because, shockingly, there is no media that is 100% perfect. Hard to believe, yes. There was no way this ending could've satisfied everyone, without it being, like, six hours and every single ship making out and etc.
I do think that some people's reactions to Webby's origins and such are a bit extreme and eye-roll worthy, but ultimately, whaddya gunna do? As for me, while I can't say I liked it entirely, I do have mad respect for the creators managing to show hints throughout the entire show in clever ways.
Ultimately, I am way more grateful for what the show gave.
I was amazed and pleased at what this show got away with - in terms of jokes, of scares, of morals, of everything. I'm overjoyed at how many people are now invested in the comics and old disney shows because of the show's influences.
And the show gave me what few media could do - strengthen friendships to those I care about. It's made me closer to people, and for a show all about family and bonds? It was the best gift they could deliver.
for real, while this Magica incarnation is different from I was used to, I loved every bit of her cruelty and insanity, and, goddamn, this boy got a fucking cult following AND WAS ON FOR LESS THAN 5 MINUTES.
I am kinda upset that Donald didn't get the kind of spotlight it felt like we were being promised when the show first aired. Still, it was genuinely more than the last Ducktales, so, kudos.
That said, when he was on, they did him real justice, especially with his deeply emotional scenes. Dad-nald times were best times.
I honestly, truly hope that this version of Daisy becomes the norm for her rest of any cartoon appearances she has. That she becomes the healthy, loving, while still funny and kickass girl 17 portrayed. This is the healthiest version of the relationship he's ever had, and doing anything less than this would be a huge step back.
An amazing story arc made from one translated comic, genuine input from disabled advocates, a wonderful voice actor... gods, just everything about her was fantastic. And they really allowed her to be flawed - that being a good person didn't mean you were a good person, if I can make myself clear. She was never malicious or evil, but she fucked up bad.
I can see myself playing her for a long time, and I genuinely do love playing her. She's fun, she's sad, and she deserves to show up in future disney media if it's possible.
So... yeah. Just some general ramblings. I mean, there's a lot I still love about this whole absurd show - Hamilduck, Black Heron, Storkules, Manny, etc - but these were the main ones that came to mind. If any of ya'll wanna ask what I think about other things, go for it.
That’s definitely the best takeaway. Even if the show wasn’t perfect (and really, what show could be?) it’s been a fantastic ride, and getting to meet and bond with friends has been a blast
This show gave me the gift of your friendship, Mel. XD And then I found out I stalked your Disney stories and was like "she's even cooler than I thought 8D"
I still remember how it went, like - "Everyone, I got fanart for my fanfic! yee ^^" "......... wait you wrote that" "... Yes?" "THAT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE DISNEY FANFICS EVER." "................ it's what"
Poe's just. every Au and story idea I've ever had that involves magica in any way? Now I have to take my Poe-hammer and just find a way to smash him in there.
That's adorable, but at the same time, it's because they're so dumb. Magica as Poe: Blah blah, smarty pants stuff, I need a book in my hands 24/7. Poe as Magica: BEHOLD, MORTALS, I HAVE ARRIVED, AND BE GRATEFUL YOU CAN TASTE THE AIR I BREATHE.
also saw on tumblr that describes scrooge and........... any ship he's in, really "You're the love of my life and my best friend, I would do anything for you." "I want you to eat 3 meals a day and have a decent sleep schedule." "Absolutely not."

............ although now I'm imagining a poe and magica bodyswap and them just going "eh"
Poe: /experimentally starts squeezing boobs
Magica: STOP THAT
Scrooge: ...You swapped bodies, didn't you?
Magica as Poe: Blah blah, smarty pants stuff, I need a book in my hands 24/7.

But for real, lately I've been thinking they actually are kinda similar hair wise, with his flip up and her flip down.
