Sometimes Bacon so let's say I am at the point I have an edited video and I want to re-record the audio, basically saying the same thing as before but with less "you know" and "um" and dog barking etc, any ideas on how to do that? Do you listen to what you have and write it out and then print that out and read it?
Sometimes Bacon
there's a few options, you could write out a script and then use the premiere in app function to record a new audio file in a new track and delete the track you have. or you can unlink the audio and video where you can edit them independently, and remove all the weird bits and pauses.
Sometimes Bacon
if you think you can just work with what you have and then re-record stuff that needs it, then that might be easier than just doing all the audio over
Sometimes Bacon
there is also audio editing tools, i use the Dynamics audio effects a lot because it helps equalize the volume when I'm too loud or you can use a noise gate to filter out background sounds
Sometimes Bacon
here's a video explaining stuff, there's a bunch out there

i probably spend more time on the audio portion of my videos than anything
Sometimes Bacon
this guy also shows the audio panel, there's lots of things to click to help normalize your recordings and improve sounds

if you still have a hard time trying to record with all the stuff going on, you can get plugins like the one mentioned here that do a little more than premiere

kind of overloaded you here, but its good to know that you can still create video without having a sound proof studio

Sometimes Bacon : ty!! this is so helpful, I really appreciate it! I have thought about like taking my phone, attaching it the microphone, and having the video on my ipad and going in the basement and recording there where it is quieter. My husband also said I need to fix the bass on my microphone, my voice is off, so I think I will want to rerecord the audio.
Amber
I've also thought about renting an airbnb tiny house and working from there for a day or two, by myself obv, but I think I will go down that road if I actually get hired for this gig, at this point I don't even know what will happen
Amber
well if she doesn't hire me, I'm going to do a skillshare class and youtube videos, otherwise why bother learning premiere pro
Sometimes Bacon
just remember, kids get older and they retreat to their rooms and only acknowledge you once a day so you will get a quieter space in time.
Sometimes Bacon
and headsup, you have to go into the premiere settings to turn 'monitor off' while recording otherwise you're going to hear yourself while you talk (and i find it super distracting)
Sometimes Bacon
took me a minute to find that

ty!

my current problem is that all of these video editing videos assume I have a bunch of videos when I just have ONE I want to edit and cut down
Amber
eventually my husband will go back to work at the office and I can take back the home office that he moved into. He has offered to move back in here like he was for months, before we got the puppy, but I still can't figure out how he worked in here
Amber
he may have better concentration than I do?
Sometimes Bacon
yeah, i've noticed that too. they demonstrate how to add all sorts of media together but don't really help just doing one big project. but you can cut your file down into clips and put them in the bin to make a sequence from with the same idea
Sometimes Bacon
you do get more comfortable as you play around with it and realize its not nearly as limiting as most media programs are
Amber
Sometimes Bacon : I think I get it enough to start now!

Sometimes Bacon : thanks for all the info
