anyway, while the power was out, I
1. got my grandmother to try Goose Game for a bit, and then finished it in one sitting for her
2. played through some Bastion levels and also fuck the machete trial
3. tried a lil' bit of Okami at long last

i was able to do this because we had a generator going on

and i figured since we were using it to power our pellet stove and one light anyway, might as well hook up the laptop so we could spend our, like, 8 or 9 hours without power with something

we also used the generator to heat up water for hot chocolate

but yeah, I am still really clumsy with WASD controls as it turns out - my hand keeps wanting to move towards the right for standard keyboard typing lmao

played Bastion much better on the xbox controller lmao

did a bit better when i shifted to okami! stunning game, to no one's surprise, but also oh boy the lag on this old laptop lmao
