here's some neat things about the video game I didn't like, Control

Quinn Angstrom
the game is pulling a The Shining on you from minute one

Quinn Angstrom
you enter the Oldest House, walk down a hallway with a couple portraits on the wall, do some stuff, then loop back around to the hallway to go down an elevator between the portraits

Quinn Angstrom
the first time you walk through the hallway there isn't an elevator in it

Quinn Angstrom
it gets retroactively by your need to access it

Quinn Angstrom
also Control canonically takes place in the same universe as Alan Wake

Quinn Angstrom
the metal song you listen to in the ashtray maze is written by two characters from AW

Quinn Angstrom
and there's a report on an Altered World Event that's just referring to the events of that game

Quinn Angstrom
I probably would have liked Control a lot more if i had waited another year or two to play it

Quinn Angstrom
and done so on PC

Quinn Angstrom
so it'd have a better framerate and accessibility options to lower the difficulty

Quinn Angstrom
the Oldest House contains Firebreaks, massive empty gaps in space dotted with narrow bridges that are the only way to cross them

Quinn Angstrom
in the DLC, you go to the Foundations of the Oldest House, and you find a cave that appears to be a naturally-occurring Firebreak

Quinn Angstrom
there's a cameo from Hideo Kojima as a voice talking to you in a sensory deprivation chamber that's being infested by an evil forklift

Villain
I desperately want a Control 2 that learns from some of the mistakes of Control

Quinn Angstrom
Control but the primary enemy force isn't generic mans with guns

Quinn Angstrom
I love almost everything about Control other than the act of playing it
