yuuup. like that in the episode too. just all of the emotions after 4+ hr battle.

69 was supposed to be "nice". THIS WAS NOT NICE. AT ALL.

like.. on a certain level, I know there's 100+ episodes and I know these characters survive. BUT. STILL. each battle, and especially that one was very tense. made all the more epic by character moments like that.

the measure of a good story is making you feel that way even with that knowledge

here's something from the first episode. not as painful, but same artist, i'll happily tempt y'all further!

Lady Stardust C2 is where a lot of people started. it is a good start, everyone's at level 1, all brand new characters, etc etc. that said i totally get that 'liveplay podcast' feel. I tend to play a game while I listen to the more laidback episodes

I found I had to alternate episodes with something else

the play element fucks with the story's pacing and that tends to make my attention slide off things

makes sense! i alternate episodes with lofi music or asmr while i do writing.

but when I alternated episodes with a straight drama podcast it resets my brain every half hour and that works much better

i've read some people skip battles and just read transcripts online which.. I can understand as those turns can drag, and they can get caught up in not knowing what to do or the numbers. but some battles tend to be extremely exciting and very heart-pounding. (like.. tonight's.)

nodnod also, most episodes have timestamps pinned, which makes it easier to get back into things if you drift away.

the ones you listen to because the shape of the voice and story has become your brain's happy place
